How do we help ALL students access challenging grade level texts? We will explore using active reading techniques to support all readers. As Dr. Jennifer Throndsen says, "It isn't about matching the text to the student - it's about identifying what instructional strategies teachers can leverage to create an optimal and challenging learning experience" (Raising Up Readers, 2025). Together we will discuss how to intentionally leverage active reading strategies to ensure all students are meaningfully engaged.
